Hello Again,
Kalispell International Folk Dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Salvation Army gym,
110 Bountiful Drive (a block east of Hwy 93 and a block south of the hospital and
hospice). As usual, a donation of $3 is requested to pay the rent.
Tina and daughter Aurora also re-joined us last week, with Aurora playing along with
some of the folk dances. She is quite an accomplished musician on the recorder.
Butte folk dancers invite us to join them for a dance party on Sunday evening May 1,
6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Arts Chateau-Sacred Ground ballroom. We are expecting 10-12
local dancers plus a few guests from Bozeman. We'll have treats! And the music
we've been dancing to for the past 9 years! Travelers coming from the west should
take the City Center exit to avoid construction at Harrison Ave. The Arts Chateau is
on the corner of Broadway and Washington streets, and you enter on the Washington
St. side (the west) and go up two flights of stairs. No snow predicted for May 1,
according to Eva. Contact her with any questions: maxneva AT rfwave DOT net
Reminder that the service and celebration in memory of Marvin Black will be held next
Saturday May 7, starting at 2 p.m. at the Smith Valley Grange Hall, on U.S. Hwy 2 about
3 miles west of Kalispell. It will conclude with a potluck and contra dance. The grange
hall has no cooking facilities, so plan your potluck entrees accordingly. International
dancing will be cancelled for that night but will resume the following week, on Saturday May 14.
Also on May 7, the Salvation Army is hosting its annual free Spring Swing Fling Thing
swing dance, starting at 6 p.m. (not 7 p.m.) at the Salvation Army gym and featuring
the "Swingin' On High" big band and the Stillwater Christian Jazz Band. There will
also be a silent auction, with proceeds going to children throughout Flathead Valley
who may want to attend the Salvation Army Summer Camp. Thanks to Joe for that update.
Bozeman folk dancing continues on Tuesday nights through May. Contact Cecelia

The Dusquesne University Tamburitzans will be in Anaconda on Thursday, May 12. For
tickets call Stan Blaz 406-563-6859.
