Hello Dancers, Kalispell International Dance will be cancelled this Saturday in deference to the annual Hawaiian dance event scheduled this year at the Northridge Lutheran Church. Several of our dancers also take part in the Hawaiian dance school. The school has extended an invitation to our entire dance community to attend this event and join in the potluck dinner that will follow. The dance program begins at 5 p.m. and will last about an hour. If you plan to stay for the potluck, please bring a food or dessert dish to share with others. Stamp & Camp is next weekend in Kalispell! It's our annual weekend of international folk dancing in the Flathead Valley, all very relaxed and informal. Dancing Saturday will be at the Salvation Army Community Center, 110 Bountiful Drive, starting around 1 p.m. (not noon, as previously announced) and continuing until late afternoon, when there will be time to set up camp or secure other billeting arrangements. Free camping at Russ & Missy's home. Potluck dinner in the Salvation Army dining room will be followed by an evening dance party. Russ & Missy will host a breakfast Sunday morning at their home bring something to share if possible), followed by the concluding dance session in the Chicken House. Directions to the Salvation Army Community Center: From the intersection of U.S. 2 and 93 (Idaho & Main) in the center of Kalispell, head north on 93 toward Whitefish about 12 blocks to the second stoplight, at Conway Drive. Turn right (east) toward the hospital emergency room entrance, then turn right (south) on Claremont just before you reach the hospital entrance. Finally, turn left (east) on the next street, which is Bountiful Drive. The community center is at the end of the street. Argentine Tango Classes are coming to Kalispell the following weekend, on Saturday afternoon June 23. Julie Tabler in Helena reports that two of her friends will be teaching the classes, which will be at Flathead Fitness, 300 1st Ave. W. in Kalispell, from 2 to 5 p.m. Teachers will be Lori Mitchell and Patrick Marsolek. Anyone can attend. You don't need to bring a partner. Two classes will be offered: 2:00 - 3:15 – Learning the fundamentals of connection, embrace, beginning musicality and fundamentals. 3:30 - 4:45 – Adding more vocabulary, turns, creative rhythmic options and some fancier steps. Cost is $10 for each class. Both are open to all levels of dancers.
