Our last Contra Dance of 2013 is Saturday, Dec. 7th, at the Kalispell Senior Center at 403 2nd Avenue West.
Dance from 7:30-10:30 PM to musicians Left Side Brains with caller Kathy Neff.
Contra dancing is New England style folk dancing to live music of Celtic jigs and reels done in long lines or a
continuous circle of partners. Because it is a lively mixer with everyone dancing with each other, a dance
partner is not required.
All dance abilities are welcomed with lessons beginning at 7:30 PM.
Each dance throughout the evening begins with a walk-through. Children ages 10 and older are encouraged to join
in on the dance floor. Contra dancing is always a family-friendly event since no smoking or drinking are allowed.
Participants are encouraged to bring snacks to share during break.
$8/adults,
$5/high school and college students,
$18/families.
This continued season of contra dance is made possible by Flathead Contra Dancers and the Kalispell Parks and
Recreation Department.
