Dances of May 3, 2003 @ The Salvation Army Gym, 7-10ish
1 Biserka (Bee-sehr-kah) -Serbia -Roger taught. Line dance.
Arms down "V" position. The "Micky Mouse" dance.
2 Ivanice (ee-vahn-EET-seh) -Macedonia -Russ taught.
3 Jiana -Transylvania, Romania. Roger taught. -Back-basket hold.
Closed circle 8 to 12 people. 1)Starts facing ctr, small step
on Right foot across Left foot in a "shaking" style. Step on
Left foot to left. Repeat 7 more times. 2) The sequence next
is: side step right twice, then repeat to left, then repeat
to right. Stamp 4 times with right foot. 3) Then it's 4
grapevine step to left. Last part of sequence is the buzz-step
15 counts. Briefly that is the dance. Repeat 1-4
4 Milanovo Kolo -Serbia -Russ taught. Arms down, hold hands;
"V" position. Line dance. Start with Right foot hop, moving
Counter Clock Wise (CCW) with Left foot crossing in front
of Right foot, then hop. (You started facing kind of
diagonally to the right) Now turn facing diagonally left
as your Right foot steps to right. Left foot passes behind
Right foot. Right foot steps to right, take weight on Right
foot. A quick follow up with weight on your Left next to
your right, then weight on your Right foot in place - that's
the 123. Hope that helps to jog your memory with this one,
brief description as it is.
5 Trind Polska -Finland -Roger taught. Closed circle, front
basket hold. Walk, think 12 steps. Start moving Clock-Wise
with your inside foot -your Right- start counting
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. All the odd numbers your Right foot
is taking wieght. 11 & 12 you stomp -Right stomp, Left stomp.
Now 12 "Buzz steps" saying "HOY" as you pivit
on your right to repeat the dance this time moving CCW
starting the 12 walking steps with your Left foot. Etc.
Again this is woefully brief.
6 Baldazka -Bulgaria -Russ taught. Line dance. Arms are in the
"W" position.
7 Tzadik Katamar -Israel Don't think we taught this but
just did it.
8 Tino Mori -Macedonian -Russ taught
Repeated the dances 1-6.
9 Alunelul de la Urzica -Romania -Roger did a walk through 1st.
The Kalispell Country Cloggers showed up and danced for us.
They cloged to, "When Halley Came to Jackson"
(Halley, as in Halley's comet)

At the Salvation Army Gym, 7 to 10pm.
Contra Dancing, at the Creston Grange Hall,
(Just off Hwy 35 in Creston, 4 miles south of Woody's)
is over for the season, but there might be a few TBA.
The dance is put on by Contra Dance Flathead.
