Happy Holidays to All!

Flathead International Folkdancers will gather this Saturday 12-29-07 at Lauren's home for a holiday
season potluck and dance party starting at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring a favorite ethnic dish to add
to the international flavor of the night. Should be great fun! Next week we return to our usual dance
venue at the Salvation Army Church gym at 110 Bountiful Drive on "pill hill."

Here's a year-end reminder that The National Folk Festival will be held in our own Butte Montana for the
next three years, beginning July, 11, 12 and 13, 2008. Events will be free and open to the public. Earlier
this year, Max in Butte encouraged all of us to get involved by writing letters in support of
dance. It's probably not too late to write those letters, if you haven't already done so, encouraging
the organizers to arrange for dance venues in general and international folkdancing in particular. One
letter should go to the National Council for the Traditional Arts, National Folk Festival 2008-10
Planning Committee, 1320 Fenwick Lane, Suite 200 Silver Spring, MD 20910 USA. Tell them your favorite
types of dance and that you'd like to see venues for public dancing at the festivals in Butte. Send a
second letter to the local planning committee:
National Folk Festival, Local Planning Committee, c/o Mainstreet Uptown Butte, P.O. Box 696, Butte, MT
59703. Tell them that you have just written the national committee and then repeat your requests.
