International Folk Dancing in Kalispell will be this Saturday, June 30, from 8 to 10 p.m.,
at the Salvation Army Community Center, 110 Bountiful Drive. We will celebrate Jon's
birthday, so come dance on the last day of June and bring good birthday wishes &
maybe even a treat to share!
It's a big dance weekend north of Bozeman, in the Shields Valley, where a fiddling
workshop and Scottish and Contra dances are scheduled at Hallie's Weather Rock Barn
June 22-23. The Fiddling for Dancers Workshop will focus on Scottish music. Email

Contra Dance with Weatherwood is Friday June 22, 7:30 to 11 p.m. A Saturday Dance
Workshop will be for Basic Scottish Country Dances from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Then
Scottish Country Dancing for all level of dancers, to live music, happens from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.
Bozeman Folk Dancers will host a Turning Dance/Beginning Hambo workshop next
Tuesday, June 26th, with teacher Bob Holmen. It's from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Union
Hall, Bozeman, 422 East Mendenhall (behind fire station downtown on Rouse) Cost is $5 per person.

The 2012 Montana Folk Festival in Butte, and will include international folk
dancing on Saturday morning,July 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, at Saint John's
Episcopal Church. This festival is a great annual event, with continuous live musical
performances at venues all over uptown Butte. If you've never been, you're missing
something. Check it out this year, if you possibly can.
