Hello Dancers,
Our Kalispell International Folk Dance has been cancelled, owing to a number of conflicts and a likely shortage of dancers. We will meet again Saturday, Sept. 27, from 7 to 10 p.m., at the Salvation Army Community Center gym, 110 Bountiful Drive. A $4 donation is requested, to rent the hall.
Thanks again to Jackie and Ben VanDyke for hosting our potluck dinner and picture show Saturday, September 13, while our dance venue was unavailable. We had lovely armchair introductions to northern Italy from Russ and Missy, China from Jackie and Ben, and Sweden and Switzerland from Don and Rose -- along with lots of yummy food and a tour of VanDyke's garden and greenhouse. Nice! Others who brought goodies and took part were Sharon and Roger, Eva and Max, Connie, Jackie Z and Joe.
This weekend is the 7th annual Dancing in the Country gathering at Weather Rock Barn north of Bozeman near Wilsall. It's always a great time and a gorgeous way to celebrate the autumnal equinox. We have at least four coming from the Flathead. Final details are attached as a Word document.
Renowned dance teacher Dick Oakes will be the featured guest, on Oct.3 and 4, when the International Folk Dancers of Richland, WA, host their 60th annual Folk Dance Festival.in the Tri-Cities. Attached is more info from Barb Puigh, the festival chairperson, along with the registration form for the weekend. Barb said registration at the door is OK too.
