Kalispell International Folk Dancers

Dance report March 28, 2020

COVID-19 has turned our world upside down. See Montana Response: COVID-19. Shelter in place, social distancing; concepts even a month ago were not in our vocabulary.

Eva sent an email to us all today that is a great way to feel some sense of normalcy.

Hi dear friends,
Saturday has been our dancing day since we moved to Kalispell and it just does not feel right to sit around on Saturday night.

So we are going to have our own little folk dance party here, using Amanda’s list of dance videos below. We may go on to try some of the Steam and Stomp dances, and will certainly do Floričica, which we can pretty much do in an under=tempo sort of way. We will dance from 7:30-8:30 or whenever we get tired. We would love to think that some of you are dancing too.

We plan to have corn chips, fizzy fruit juice and maybe a little chocolate for party treats.

Thanks to Amanda for the non-stop you-tube play list.

Do make time for exercise and human contact, but we'll plan to do it outside IFD meetings until the end of April. Below is my play list of folk dances, go dance in your kitchen! And wash your hands!

To finish off you might enjoy this video from Poland, sent to us by Jackie V. "My cousin Stasia in Poland just sent this link. Happy dreaming of dancing!"
