Hi Everyone,
Happy Spring! May is on its way.
We haven't done Ljaski or Ljaskovsko Horo, from Pirin, Bulgaria; for a while. The following dance history is by:
Andrew Carnie ©2016,
"Originally taught by Yves Moreau, who learned it from Todor Svetkov in 1986. The dance is from the village of Ljaski, in Goče Delčev (which used to be called Nevrokop). The dance was taught by Larry Weiner, Maria Eftimova, and Steve Kotansky as "Nevrokopsko Horo". Just to confuse things Yves taught a different dance in 2/4 called Nevrokopsko Horo! The version described here is Yves' three part version."
The music we use is from: Yves Moreau Bulgarian Folk Dances vol 3.

Russ found a different version of Kost ar C'hoad (Koster C'hoad), than originally taught by Germain Hebert at Stockton Folk Dance Camp 1993; also he found a south Serbian style of Šano Dušo on YouTube, lead by Zeljko Jergan, as he introduced it in southern California, at the Pasadena Coop in 1997.
